Warez Wareaz p2p is a free filesharing application. It lets us search for music, films and other files shared by other people. It uses an advanced queuing system and supports downloading from multiple sources at one time. Thanks to it, we can download almost anything we want in not much time. We can choose ourselves what to share. The program also has a built-in audio and video player with a full playlist support.

Edonkey

eDonkey uses the currently biggest p2p network, eDonkey2000. It has now over three million users which
means that almost everything can be found there. However, great files (films, games &c.) have a priority. Downloading a simple .mp3 is much harder.
The program might seem complex at first glance. In fact, it is not. All we need to do to download anything is to connect to just any server and choose the file. However, it needs a whale of time to get the download eventually started…

MetaMachine, the producer, actually aimed to support Overnet. These two programs are compatible and support one another.

The one who has given birth to Shareaza is Michael Stokes. He is the author of all the versions up to 2.0.0.0. After that release he has published the code under the GPL license. Since then Shareaza is developed by a team. The newest version is the one numbered 2.1.0.0; version 2.2.0.0 is promised and hoped to be available soon.

Shareaza is 100% free. There is no download fee, no registration obligation, and no spyware or adware.

Bittorrent

bittorrent logo Download Bittorrent.

BitTorrent was written by Bram Cohen who wanted to create a program which would download files faster and better than the others.
Interface cannot be described. It is just one, small, ascetic window. The idea behind the network is far more than original: no browser, just .torrent files available on various websites. All we do is simply download the tiny .torrent file (a few kB) and run the program which, in its turn, using the main server (so called “tracker”) searches for all people who have the file. What we download is divided in small pieces, just like in many other programs. Once such a piece is downloaded to our machine, it is automatically shared with others.

Azureus does not need to be introduced any longer. A very good BitTorrent client, it is - for those who do not know.
Many features, good rates. Nice, comfortable, easy and straight-forward. No-problem install, no configuration.
Supposably the only vice it has is that it cannot searcg for torrents but this is a problem of the whole network, not just of this client’s. You could say there are programs which theoretically can do it, so why was not this feature implemented in Azureus. But I think all BT users know pretty well just how much these programs are really worth.

Emule

eMule is one of the most popular p2p programs, perhaps even the most popular one. Supposably, the eDonkey200 network owns its popularity to thes very program.
Unlike Sherman Networks (the makers of Kazaa), MetaMachine (the makers of eDonkey) have managed to come to terms with the eMule Team, thanks to which both programs can coexist peacefully. Needless to say, it is the network who gains most.
In fact, both programs are very similar. The main difference is that eMule does support the Kad network whereas eDonkey does not. 1:0 for eMule. Apart from that, they have almost all the weak (queues!) and strong (content) points in common.

kazaa

Kazaa is without any doubt one of the best known filesharing programs ever. But does it really deserve its popularity?
In my opinion, it is light years away from that.
Let us start from the beginning: there are two versions to choose: the free one and the paid one ($29.95). The paid version is promised not to have ads… Well… the free one is promised not to have spyware… But either I am mistaken very much, or at least two of the seven (!) components that installed with Kazaa were spyware… Uninstalling Kazaa and its “friends” took me an hour. You could think of Kazaa as of an AdwareEater session.
