eMule
Imho, eDonkey is the second most overrated network right after FastTrack. But in some magical way it keeps attracting new users just to make them spend their lives waiting in queues and not ever downloading anything. Oh, well, eMule is the best of the horde. Had it only supported some other network… would it be a great client! See the description of eMule here.
Best Direct Connect Client

LDC++
It is no secret that I have never been a fan of Direct Connect. So you can imagine that rating this category was for me just chosing what is least bad. Anyway, I chose LDC++ as it has the greatest number of features and generally seems to be the most advanced out of the bunch. As far as my knowledge goes all DC clients have equally bad interfaces.
Kazaa lite

Kazaa Lite is a clean version of Kazaa Media Desktop. It contains absolutely no spyware, adware or other unwanted software. The new K++ Edition even adds some cool extra functionality to the program.

| Azureus I wonder whether overrating Azureus is at all possible. It is simply a superb client. The only thing I could moan about is that it is written in Java and somewhat slow because of that. Well, you can’t have everything and I have no doubt it is better to have Azureus than speed. See the description of Azureus here. |
Best Ares Client

Warez P2P
Warez P2P is not the official client of the Ares network but has been so successfull that many people believe the network is actually called Warez, not Ares. It is a full-featured, professional client of a very good network. See the description of Warez P2P here.
